My wife and I took our 12 yr. old daughter on an Italy trip last summer designed and organized by Guido at Ciao Italy. It was the best trip we have ever taken and I have traveled all over the world. The air flights, hotels, transportation, personal drivers, tours were organized perfectly without any problems. Seems to me that Guido is the person who can handle the most difficult clients.
Guido has gone the extra mile in compiling a perfect fit tour intinery for very fickle customers!
It must have been very hard to organise the tour via e-mail correspondence with a time difference in South Africa as well as currency fluctuation, language barriers, to mention but a few.
He calmly and effeciently made valuable suggestions and really went out of his way to acommodate us in an extremely difficult flight-plan with way-out connection times etc.
I really can recommend him as an extremely effecient agent who listens to numerous questions and showed patience with all the changes.
Thank you again Guido! You are a star! Iam sure everything will run smoothly once our tour begins and I am looking forward to our dream vacation in Italy!

.....Being picked up in Italy in a gorgeous Mercedes Van, we felt so spoiled and elite!! All the drivers and vehicles were exceptional. They all had those Mercedes Vans. What a spectacular company you use. We asked him if we could see the Leaning Tower of Pisa before going to Florence, and even though it was in the opposite direction, he took us. We got out, took pictures, and loved it. We tipped all the drivers very generously. They always seemed surprised and appreciative. They deserved it with the crazy driving in Italy – that’s for sure.
John and I did have to change our room in Florence because the shower was a tiny stall. My husband could barely more and I could barely wash my hair! Mostly because the floor filled up and overflowed out of the shower. There was a drain in the bathroom floor. We asked to have our room changed and they next stall was much larger. The kids had a full bathtub/shower and a very nice room too. It had magnificent original medieval high wooden ceilings. We were in a great location, walked everywhere, 5 min from tour bus stop. I tell everyone that I fell in love with Italy and felt like my heart grew bigger. Words can’t explain how you feel there surrounded by perfect old streets and buildings with such art and such sights. Everything you looked at was awesome. Michael would continually say, I could just stand here forever, no matter what he was looking at! We kept wondering if this all was really happening! The tour buses were nicer than the others at the stop. Our tour guides were phenomenal, very intelligent, animated, informative, interesting. It’s amazing that during the hours and hours we were with them, you couldn’t take your eyes off them and hung on every word. What a gift. Ciao Tours is REMARKABLE, EXCEPTIONAL. John loved Siena. Loved that town horse race story and it was going on when we were there. Even the kids loved the churches. Lisa was the one that told me to bring a shawl for respect in the church. She was so into the honor of seeing these magnificent duomos! By the way, we were all talking Italian as the days went on! Every day we had the tomatoes with basil and mozzarella. On Saturday, when we got home, John bought tomatoes. They tasted like pennies! Horrible. The food is so fresh in Italy. We just had the time of our lives. We loved saying San Giamagnano (spelling). It took a while, but we got it down. FACINATING THERE. We kept wondering how they built everything to last in Italy. When they took us to the top of a hill in Florence, we looked down into the city and saw the cathedral where Michelangelo is buried. We were so awestruck all the time. We saw fields of sunflowers. We loved the Chianti wine tour and that place, the castle, and that family and the caretaker – they were all so heartwarming. The story was heartwarming and magnificent. We sat down at tables and had bread with olive spread and tomato spread and dipped in their unbelievable olive oil. Nothing we ever tasted before. We all bought a bottle. Matt bought his own bottle!!! We bought bottles of wine. AND we learned so much from the guide (the castle owner’s cousin). And Matt knew a lot about wine from being a server at a country club, and he learned a lot more here!
You arranging our earlier pickup to go to Rome and the wonderful driver we had and the private tour guide. . . we were most awestruck by this and you. We had the same driver the next morning to take us to the airport. All the drivers treated us like royalty. No exaggeration. I actually hugged out tour guide at the end this time. He really got us to see everything. And you know he didn’t have to. He really really moved us around. We learned so much. He taught us all above the Sistine Chapel paintings BEFORE going in at this display. When we went into the Chapel, we could look at everything and understand and know what it all meant. Isn’t that amazing? He took pictures of us at special spots. Then he and the driver chatted and took us to the Ruins, got out, took pictures. So much so much so much. At night, we took a cab to the Trevy (spelling) Fountain, sat down for desert and coffee and relaxed a bit! Hotel Diana was magnificent. We wished we had stayed another night in Rome and in that hotel. Our room had a balcony!!! The kids room was a suite with a kitchenette, separate bedroom, living room with the two chairs that were pull out beds! They were so excited. Lisa had never really traveled before dating Matt. She was so fun to watch. We all loved Italy with all our hearts and all want to go back. These kids spoke about you every day. They were so grateful for all you did. We are so grateful for all you did.
Thank you for being on this once in a lifetime journey with us, dear Myriam. I couldn’t imagine having anyone other than you with us. It was like the left hand was holding Justin’s Journey opening for Paul McCartney and the right hand was holding our European Vacation. Blessed Gifts.

Our family is so grateful to Ciao Italy Tours, and especially Guido, for their expertise in planning our trip to Italy! All of our transfers (6 in all) were flawless, and we were met in a timely manner by professional English speaking drivers/tours agents who were very easy to find, had beautiful and big enough cars (to accommodate 6 people and 6 huge pieces of luggage), and were extremely personable and very helpful and knowledgeable. Additionally, Guido arranged private tours of Rome, Pompeii, Vatican City (yes, we saw the Pope!), Positano, and Venice for us. Our tour guides were absolutely amazing - not only did we not want to leave Italy at the end of our trip, but we didn't want to leave our guides, who became like part of our family! Our guides, arranged by Guido, provided such a comfort zone for our entire family and created memories that we will most certainly treasure for a lifetime!!
